Well hello there! We may not have met yet, so please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Mel Seeley. I think of myself as wearing a lot of metaphorical hats. I am a mom to a lot of kids. My husband brought five children with him into our marriage and together we had three more. Since then we have lost one daughter and gained a son in law and two grandchildren. I homeschool our three youngest, which is oftentimes a challenging and yet somehow rewarding pastime. For the last five years or so, I have been slowly, very slowly, working on this blog, as well as working on my many writing projects.

I have two books I am actively working on writing, as well as many others in various states of progress. One of the books I am working on is nonfiction and the other is fiction. The nonfiction book is about my grief journey in the years since we lost our daughter. The fiction book that I am working on the most often; which ironically is not the one with the most developed storyline, is a second chance supernatural fiction.

I am also a veracious reader who enjoys reading the Bible, fairytale retellings, supernatural fantasy, some historical romance, romantic thrillers as well as a wide variety of nonfiction books that I mostly start reading and then get distracted by another one and another one. Sometimes I do eventually finish some of them lol. I also read random other things along the way.

I have three dogs, (that I am allergic to but can’t bear to get rid of.) a little psycho one and two lively labs. I enjoy going to the movies and spending time with my kids, and grandbabies. Spending time with my amazing church family and especially my lovely Bible study ladies. Roller skating is a favorite pastime, although not one I am able to do very often. I also enjoy watching a variety of movies and TV shows from a broad timeframe.

I also very much enjoy photography. Mostly just for my own enjoyment. I have an insane amount of pictures of my family, our animals, as well as a wide variety of other things that over the years have caught my eye. I also enjoy taking those photos and getting creative with them; making things like party invites, calendars, adding quotes and verses to them.

For the last several years of my life I struggled with a variety of debilitating health issues, that have significantly affected my ability to interact with the world around me. A little over a year ago, one of these issues finally got a name. Type Two Inflammation. Which essentially seems to mean that my body thinks that everything in the world is out to get it. So its solution is to then attack me. Cause that makes sense, right? I also have a laundry list of allergies, that just seem to feed the aforementioned problem. Twice I have been exposed to significant levels of mold that left is own mark on my health. I have had four different kinds of cancer, over a majority of my adult life. The good news is that come April 2024, as far as I know, I will be five years cancer free!
